Can Real Estate Agents Work from Home?

Yeah, real-estate agents will, and many do, work from home. Others prefer to work from the office, even though they have the choice of working from home. At the end of the day, it is a question of personal choice with no correct answer.
Real estate agents are home and land licensed salespersons. They make a living by helping buyers and sellers complete the exchange of real estate. Real estate agents are paid by commission, which means that they basically work for themselves. They owe their broker little more than a desk fee (or a share of the commissions they earn) and a promise to uphold the image of the brokerage.
This gives real estate agents a great deal of flexibility. They can choose their own place of work as well. Many agents are taking advantage of this flexibility to work from home.

What are the Advantages and Disadvantages of Working from Home?

Agents who work from home say they appreciate not having to go to the office. This saves time and reduces stress. They also say that working at home is quieter and less distracting than the office where there is more activity. Some people talk about convenience. They can have lunch when they want to. When they have a minute off, they can put in a load of laundry.
Agents also note that real estate is a relationship business. It is essential to have a positive, constructive relationship with clients in order to conclude deals. Rather than asking these individuals to come to the office for meetings, many agents prefer to go to them. This encourages more personal service, they say, and limits the need for an office. Lead generation is best done “out in the field” rather than in the office.
